Thought I would post a pic of the moose --ya rear end too--that came through my yard the other morning--he chewed on my apple trees! This might be of interest to those especially in the warmer climes and across the sea.

I have always wanted to visit your state. Thanks for a view!I had the priviledge of taking care of one of the ICEROAD truckers mother and "Polar Bear" told me how beautiful it was in Alaska.

trueimage 10-14-2010 06:53 PM

Cool! A I ever see down here are jackrabbits, deer, and possum!

earthwalker 10-14-2010 07:18 PM

Bad moose? More like BIG moose! I think these creatures are amazing...thanks for the pic. Here's me complaining about parrots eating our fruit!

lisainmo 10-14-2010 07:23 PM

No moose here, but I have bad deer that harvested my beets for me. They pulled 'em up, and ate the tops off. Well at least they left the roots for me!

wolfkitty 10-14-2010 07:34 PM

I like moose, what I know of them from here in New York state! I suppose if it was eating my fruit tree - although I would feel privileged to share with it to be able to see one. Thanks for sharing the picture!

mom-6 10-14-2010 07:38 PM

No moose here either! Just 'coons, possums, squirrels, rabbits, deer, coyotes, armadillos...

Suzan Larrimore 10-15-2010 03:26 AM

I had the privalge (sp)? of visiting your beautiful state in 2000. I would love to go back. It was the best 10 days ever. I felt so at home. Maybe someday.....sigh :)

LeeAnn 10-15-2010 04:46 AM

OOhhhh, I've always wanted to visit Alaska! I hear it's beautiful. All I have in my yard is an infestation of squirrels. I find little holes all over where they bury their nuts. Our neighbor has a pecan tree.

clem55 10-15-2010 05:12 AM

Over the years, I've had a coyote, a deer, squirrels galore, rabbits, chipmunk, groundhog, raccoon( that rascal got in my chimney!) and scariest of all, a mad bull on the run. and I live in town!!

quilter68 10-16-2010 05:21 AM

Someone on here has a deer staring into their window as an Avatar. The photo is adorable.

Glad to see your company of the day.

Been to Alaska and love it. have to come back to go to Denali. There is so much to see.

dunster 10-16-2010 08:27 AM

We lived for 4 years in northern British Columbia, and I miss it so much. Our farm was home to moose, bears, deer, and many other critters. The moose were amazing because they could take one or two steps into the bush and totally disappear. Thank you for posting your moose picture.

Lyn 10-16-2010 10:16 AM

Lots of moose here.

mollymct 10-16-2010 10:25 AM

Wow! I can't imagine looking out my window and seeing THAT! The most exciting things I've seen this year (other than the birds I do love) have been a box turtle and an o'possum!

cafegold2 10-16-2010 01:09 PM

You've got armadillos!

vwquilting 10-16-2010 05:09 PM

I had moose come through my yards last year here in Maine. He was huge but my dog was tied up out side i was scared to death so I called the police. They came right up they said it had head worms and needed to get rid of it as it was going to spread the disease. he was beautiful with huge antlers. Its a great sight. He said it would not hurt the dog unless it was in heat and the dog bothered him.

Cassews 10-16-2010 06:43 PM

how awesome is that !

Sweeterthanwine 10-16-2010 07:47 PM

I love moose. We have been to Alaska three times and want to go back again. We travel in an RV so we get to see lots of beautiful country.

auntiehenno 10-16-2010 11:01 PM

LOVED IT - THANKS~

Deecee 10-16-2010 11:17 PM

Love the pic - not something I would see in my backyard.

Bev 10-20-2010 06:41 PM

All we ever get in our backyard are lots of coons, a few possums, tons of squirrels, and once, just once, a mama gator.
I wouldn't want another gator, but everything else is ok

But then, I don't think I'd really want a moose either. I've heard they can be kinda mean.
