Super cool!! Around here all I ever seem to see is baby clothes and tupperware.

Tupperware is good. Wish I had more. My 1960 collection is finally wearing out.

it's nice you rescued them. at least they didn't end up in the trash! who knows, you may need them one day!

I have my grandmothers, I always look for the old stuff like this, during the summer months i head out to farming land for garage and barn sales, its so much fun.

I wish I could find something like those, as my Dad was a Buttermaker,way back when creameries were a part of our life. Great find!

have seen those in local antique stores, did not know what they were, now I will be on the look-out for reasonably priced ones.....

It's been a long time since I have seen a butter mold. I have a clear butter dish(antique) that I use for a candy dish and your mold would work perfectly for my butter dish. You did good.

Lucky you. I have one of my grandmothers and a square one and a churn of my grandmothers. Back in the 80's we bought milk from friends, and I made butter. ummmmm good.

LOL! I had to check out your location to see if you lived near me. That is all that seems to show up at garage sales around here too.

These are all very nice. The one on the right appears to be the eldest. The glass one is great. All of us who have had cows and made butter will smile. Making butter is a little time consuming. Be sure the cream is very cold and you can make it quickly with your electric mixer. A stand mixer works best as it takes a few minutes. When the cream coagulates, pour off the buttermilk and work the butter together. Rinse with ice water. When all traces of the buttermilk are gone, press it into the one of your choice and refrigerate. The butter can then be pressed out without warping when it is cold. It is great for family gatherings and holidays. Your friends will be asking for it. Oh yes, try to find local milk, as storebought cream is a little pricey.

What a great find. Thanks for posting pictures. I have never seen a glass one before. My Grandma had all of the family ones on a shelf. I love the one her Father made for her mother as a wedding gift.

Tupperware has a lifetime warranty....so if yours is wearing out, you should be able to get replacements for free (unless they have changed their policy.)

Mine is old and beginning to wear also..
