Great decision to delete, delete, delete!

This is a silly attempt to suck people in, but is so easily determined to be a fraud. Your name is not even mentioned in the email.

Getting us to open the attachment is the goal. And who knows what is embedded in the attachment or what it will do to your computer?

I keep a low profile on the internet, not Facebook or anything so I can't even remember if I ever got any scam sent to me. I was worried when eBay got hacked but then I have changed my internet provider.

Courts usually don't notify via email of cases.

No indeed. No details given. Scam for sure.

I just gave a LONG reply to this but it kept telling me my response was too short; it had to be at least 10 characters. I knew it was about 2 paragraphs long, and I even added more periods to it but I got same reply. Don't want to try again. Suffice it to say - it's a scam.

Notice to Appear,

You have to appear in the Court on the August 31.
Please, do not forget to bring all the documents related to the case.
Note: The case will be heard by the judge in your absence if you do not come.

The Court Notice is attached to this email.

Regards,
James Odell,
Clerk of Court.

I have received several of these and delete without opening. NO court would send you an e-mail like this, it would come in mail and if a summons person would deliver or registered mail.

I explained to a telephone marketer that they should not be calling me as I am on the "Do not call" list. A little while later I got an obviously taped call with a very loud voice telling me that there was legal action pending about me and that I had to ring a certain number. Don't really know why they bother as the number was international and the voice sounded foreign as well. It must have cost them more money than it was worth to try to get at me????

I've gotten 3 phone calls from someone reporting to be from IRS stating that I am being sued by the IRS and giving a phone # to call. Have never received a mailing from IRS and phone call gave no personal information. Needless to say I did not call, if IRS needs to contact me they can do it by mail. Then and only then, when I have verified the authenticity, will I respond. The scammers are busy this summer.

I keep getting phone calls from someone stating that the IRS is suing me and that I need to call "this number" immediately! How stupid do they think people are???

Hmm, your email spam filter should have caught that. I go in my Spam folder to check every so often and I had several of the very same emails in there.
