You all ok from the tornado storms?

We have friends that live just below Harrisburg IL - I didn't even realize there were storms until I got a text from her this morning saying that they were ok. Pics on the news are just horrifying! And the destructive storm is still moving.

Hope you're all ok!

QuiltnLady1 02-29-2012 12:09 PM

I think I heard that Branson, MO also got hit. I hope and pray everyone is OK.

Tartan 02-29-2012 12:33 PM

I have seen some of the damage on the morning news. I hope everyone is all right. It has been a freaky weather year for sure.

COYOTEMAGIC 02-29-2012 12:42 PM

15 Tornados total across the mid-west. The storm front is still moving east. Stay safe ya'll

BluegrassGurl 02-29-2012 02:11 PM

Bad storms w/tornadoes throughout the entire state of Kentucky from morning to now --- touched down in our county but unsure about any damage. Thank the good Lord....We are good.... what a day! Praying for those who have not been as fortunate.

sandilee 02-29-2012 04:38 PM

The storms stayed to the south of us. It doesn't look very pretty! Its a mess. Bi-State (Illinois/Missouri) south was hit hard and it was so scattered. They need our prayers.

AuntieD 02-29-2012 05:12 PM

My prayers go to everyone who has suffered from these storms. Hope this isn't an indication of what this year will be like.

Tornado yesterday at around 4:30 p.m. killed a lady in Smithville, TN & 2 in nearby county. Several homes were destroyed. Thank the Lord we are safe.

Tennessee Suzi 03-01-2012 08:49 AM

tornado

We live about 2 miles from the devastation in Rinnie, Tennessee. This is on the Cumberland Plateau near Crossville. Homes destroyed and 2 people killed. My DH is working with the Tn. disaster relief cutting up limbs and dragging brush . Please keep these people and the workers in your thoughts and prayers during this time. More storms are forecast.

luvTooQuilt 03-01-2012 09:19 AM

it was a lil too close for comfort.. the winds were awful.. We took cover in the basement.. it was a long long night...I thought I was prepped after Joplin was hit a while back, but I realized very quickly the other night I wasnt prepared for a disaster like i thought i was..

We are safe - Payers to those who were in its path..

mrsponcho1 03-01-2012 09:23 AM

Ya know, I love the spring but I am terrified of tornadoes. I am glad that we dodged them this time. Everyone please stay tuned to your local weather when storms are predicted. The tornadoes that come during the night are the ones that usually cause more injuries since everyone is sleeping. I hope that everyone stays safe. Hugs to all the people in the communites that have been hit.

penski 03-01-2012 09:27 AM

i hope everyone stays safe , the weather channel said there are more to come tonight

GailG 03-01-2012 09:55 PM

Tornadoes terrify me. We have no basements in our area because of the water table. When hurricanes are predicted, we either hunker down or hit the road and try to get away from the coast and out of it's path. There is no escaping a tornado. I pray that all of you are safe.

beksclen 03-02-2012 06:01 AM

The 2 ladies killed were only about 5 miles north of us. It was Cumberland county TN near Crossville. A small area known as the Rinnie community.

Fabaddict 03-02-2012 06:14 AM

Branson got hit pretty hard, thankfully no one killed. Several injured however. To my knowledge, Highway 76 - better known as " the strip" is still closed. This is Branson's Centenial year and lots of activities have been planned. Those in charge say we will be up and running. I live just south of Branson and have decided to stay home and not go to being a tourist. - no damage here.

EllieGirl 03-02-2012 06:33 AM

I'm in Louisville and south/southwest of us got hit pretty hard. They are predicting major, major storms today with tornadoes and hail.

tothenci 03-02-2012 07:27 AM

Ihope everyone stays safe!

raptureready 03-02-2012 08:40 AM

We're under a tornado watch right now but I think we're just on the edge of the watch so . . . Keep your prayers going. And especially for the people in Missouri, Southern Illinois and Indiana, they're going to get the brunt of today's storm. I have a cousin in or near Harrisburg---haven't heard anything yet so I guess no news is good news. Several churches around here are taking donations of bottled water, blankets, food, etc., to take down there.
Just started raining hard but no hail or wind yet.

JuneBillie 03-02-2012 05:57 PM

I am hoping this will end soon, but it has been a long day. It is storming right now, severely, but a tornado went over tonight, stayed up in the air, so we are ok. I guess this will continue until we finally get the cool air. Praying for everyone.
I am East Tn.

EllieGirl 03-02-2012 06:20 PM

Just about 15 miles north of us two towns were leveled in Indiana. Between Kentucky and Indiana 15 people are dead. The storms went just north of us, and just south of us. The tornado that leveled the two towns was 1/2 mile wide. A mother and two babies were found dead. A 2 year old was found wandering through fields. I feel very thankful that we were spared the storm and the tornado.

berrypatch 03-02-2012 09:22 PM

My thoughts and prayers are with them all.

JuneBillie 03-03-2012 12:54 AM

I am praying for the families that have lost loved one.

Dizzy Dolly 03-03-2012 04:18 AM

Yes was bad here ... we had a roof blown off one of the middle school in Hopkins Co. and some houses and trailers in Greenville. (muhlenberg) A lots of trees and debris and without powers for awhile and hails did a lot of damages and winds was totally scary but thank the good lord as we know of as this moments some are without homes so yes let prays for them and things get back to normal for most and remeber Ind,Tenn.Ill. may god bless and keep us all safe.

HollyDav 03-03-2012 05:15 AM
