You need to try "GOOP"
 

I have been using Goop for cleaning my vintage sewing machines (non-pumice hand cleaner). It is labeled on the cover for stain remover. I decided to give it a try on two items that had stubborn stains. It works wonderful for cleaning sewing machines and works magic on stubborn set in stains.

Good idea. I have used it before, not on sewing machines.

I love the stuff and it works good cleaning a lot of things. And yes I have clean many sewing machines with Goop!
