It appears one of mine is!

Fussy eater declined most of the meals & treats I'd offered her, but when I brought out the expensive Welsh cheese that I'd bought a quarter-pound of as a splurge for us humans... she gobbled it down and begged for more.

!!

Go figure!

Anybody else have a cat with highbrow tastes?

Most definitely. Only the choices morsels for her and it best be human food (smile).

Umm no cats here but I have a great dane that will turn his nose up at chez its and will beg and act goofy for some animal crackers. He has refined tastes and will sniff, lick and nibble before eating anything new.

This is the same cat that likes to disguise herself as a zucchini or an empty pop bottle. Or so she intends it.

She is just strange, that's all there is to it...

I have some that like anything edible and some that are picky- just like my kids :)

Of course she is strange...she's a cat!! I have one that will only eat Sahlen's ham. And, yes, she can tell the difference. And, two that eat fruit...they love strawberries, bananas, watermelon, pineapple, and clementines (don't try to give them domestic tangerines...only imported clementines will do).

Yes, indeed...they are odd little critters!

PS...If you got the cheese from the supermarket that I think you purchased it at, try the blueberry Stilton...to die for!!

Yes....my cat seems to like salty foods. She likes cheese, Doritos (she licks them) and olive oil (that's right, she sits in front of the cabinet where it is kept until I put a little drop on a plate).

Your cat is so cute!! And strange?? I never knew a cat who wasn't LOL
My cat Maggie May licks my mascara- weird!!

Chicca 08-30-2011 05:48 AM

My cat Chicca is so incredibly picky...she will not eat anything but Alley Cat. We recently tried another brand and after a few days, she actually went and took a few bites of the dog food. We then made a quick trip to the store for her.

Sorry. I posted twice/

My kitties are quite weird. They will drink the tuna can water only once in a while, thank goodness the dog isn't picky and will drink it every time. One cat loves swiss cheese, turkey and roast beef and the other doesn't and the both think they have to have treats every time the dog gets them.

Until recently my Siamese would only eat Purina Indoor cat food (dry). Lately she has started eating a little bit of moist food because I feed it to her younger "sister" each morning. She will drink about a tablespoon of milk when I have cereal usually but the last 2 times she's turned her nose up at it. Guess she didn't like my brand of cereal...

My cat loves lunchmeat, mainly ham & turkey. It is the only food she comes in & begs for. She hears us getting out of the fridge from anywhere in the house too!

redkimba 08-30-2011 09:43 AM

I have a cat who got used to venison to the point when I ran out, I gave her a bit of beef. She sniffed it & looked at me as if I was crazy to give her something so disgusting.

My late kitty loved Wendy's french fries only,no McDonald's or Burger King!

One of my Mom's cats, Sassy, loves lunchmeat (Brown and Roasted turkey breast...not the cheapy one)...and everytime that 'fridge door opens, she makes a beeline for it and meows and purrs...it's just too funny to watch, especially when Mom isn't getting out the lunchmeat...lol...Naomi

My cat BuBu is an all round food snob. She eats only Special Kitty pouches (Filet Mignon flavor) from Walmart, and Meow Mix dry (hairball formula). On the rare occasion she gets table scraps, it had better be shrimp, or nothing. I had to feed her tuna once and all she did was slurp the liquid off the fish.

BuzzinBumble 09-07-2011 09:56 AM

I guess your kitty is some connoisseur, just like you are some kin'a sewer. Arr Arr.
My MIL's cat had to have fresh shrimp and broccoli every day. She lived a long, happy life, so it must have been good for her!
