My guess would be a pair of perspex shoe stilts that he steps into .

Very good, I like magicians. My Son did little tricks when he was younger.

I don't know about any of the other tricks but I heard the first one is accomplished because there are hidden stones under the water that only show up at low tide. But maybe it isn't.
