You've gotta start them YOUNG
5 Attachment(s)
My little 20month old DGD came for dinner. I had spent the week doing the Craftsy Stupendous Stitching course and went to get my masterpiece from the sewing room. Little Miss followed me in and when she saw the piece she threw it up to the machine and proceeded to climb onto the chair. I sat her on my lap and she found the 'on' switch and then told me to 'Go' She was facinated with the needle going up and down, then found all the buttons and started changing stitches and telling me to 'Go' Every time I thought we were finished and tried to get her out of the room she just changed to stitch and said 'More'
I think we have another up and coming quilter. Dad came to find us and snapped some pics. Enjoy! |

Way to go starting her young! Sew cute!

That's the way my 6yr old grandson and his 19mo old sister is. Only with her I have to watch because she'll be sitting on the bench beside me and I'll be sewing along and all of sudden I'm either going straight when I was zigzagging or the reverse. She loves to touch the machine. They both love to watch my embroidery machine go. My grandson is convinced he can sew because he's been watching me for so long. I don't discourage him I just re enforce the fact that he can't touch any of my machines without my permission.

What a cute child!!! You'll have to get her a machine, of her own, before long!

too cute .. YES indeed start them young-One of the guys came over from work and brought the wife and kids. Ended up giving them a few pieces of material and told em to go home and make something- Mom had never taught them how to use the sewing machine. They are 9 and 11-told mom to get em going on a straight stitch pot holders.
I learned at my grandmother's knee and then my mother also taught me many things about sewing .. Patience for sure.. Maybe I will have them over again and get out a machine and let them sew on it. Give them the bug!LOL |
Sew cute! Keep it up, you'll have a quilting buddy in a short time~~ :)
