Zipper teeth facing towards exterior or lining?
Hello Everyone!
I was wondering when you are making a handbag without any zipper tabs, just a polyester zipper end to end, in which direction do you face the zipper teeth while sewing up the sides? Do you face them toward the exterior or toward the lining? Or does it really matter which way? Thanks so much! |
How are you going to open the purse if there is no slide?
I know they make "invisible zippers" but those have a slide. I have never heard of being able to close a zipper without the slide. Do you have any pictures to show what you mean? |
Ditto, I have always had a zipper with a tab for operation.

Are the zipper teeth for decorative purposes only? If you are sewing up the sides and you want the zipper teeth to show, I would think you would want them facing the exterior.

oh I apologize, I didn't word that right. I do have a zipper slide. I was thinking zipper tabs as the fabric strips that you can put on the sides of some zippers so that the handbag has a recessed top zipper. I don't have whatever those things are called LOL:o

From all the tutorials I've seen about zipper pouch they say that
the zipper teeth should face the lining. Edit: Here's a good example of zipper sewn both ways and you can see the difference. http://www.sewdelicious.com.au/2012/...with-zips.html |
