Default question about backpack.

I'm going to make my DGD a backpack from a canvas like fabric.

My question is should I use a stabilizer and fabric for the inside or something like fleece & fabric? I don't want it too stiff.

I think fleece would get yucky fast. I would prefer cotton fabric on inside..

If the canvas is fairly heavy I would skip the interfacing or batting and just use a cotton fabric lining. That's what I do when using upholstery fabric or heavy denim for tote bags.
