I also quilt alone. My family is supportive and appreciates everything I make, but quilting is my thing - alone. I don't belong to any groups or guilds. I have thought about it, but just never have.

I quilt alone because if I have someone to talk to I don't quilt--I talk (this is true for everything I do). Also I usually don't start quilting until 10/11 PM and quit when I'm tired which is usually 4/5 AM--not many folks up that time of night/morning

I quilt alone. There is a local group/guild..but they meet weekdays in the daytime and I work, so no opportunity for me to join. I also go to work early, get home late, so my quilting times are primarily on the weekends. So sometimes my projects take a long time. :D

I don't belong to any groups as there is none where I live, but my mom has apt. In my home and she quilts with me when not traveling.

I do quilt alone, simply because of my work schedule. I have met several of the quilters who live in my area, and we have talked about a get together, but where and when and so on and so forth.....
I would love to do a weekend, someplace where food is not expensive, as I do need a break and have someone wait on me for a bit.

Ditto to this....my DH is gone all week so I can stay up late and do what I want when I want...just me and the furbabies.

When he is home and is watching "another western, arghhhhh" I will sew, but it's in the dining room and come in and out with him all the time.

Both. I try to sew every evening after I put the children to bed. That's alone, me, my machine and Leroy Jethro Gibbs (I'm watching NCIS seasons in order on DVD!).

I recently joined a Guild but we don't sew at once a month meetings.

One highlight is my "Sew Scrappy Sisters" group - there are 7 of us - some scrapbook and some sew. We rent a church hall one Saturday a month from 8:30am until 11:00pm and we do WHATEVER we feel like doing. I work in a VERY male dominated environment and the time with other women is highly valued. We eat dinner together (typically takeout) and have show and tell time at some point during the day / night. We've also gone on 3 / 4 day retreats for intese productivity; serious cocktails and laughter as well!

I quilt by myself almost every day. Sunday afternoons from 1-5 I do hand-quilting with my MIL and her Best Friend.

I too quilt alone. DH is very supportive and sometimes helps me with colors and "fabric runs." Quilting is my thing and I do it like I want to and when I want to. My family is encouraging and often there to pick out a new quilt for their home.
