i love that some manufacturers have taken it "just a little too far"--https://www.google.com/search?q=funny+garment+labels&client=safari&rls=en&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwi8nKeao-DTAhVG34MKHW92AHAQsAQIVg&biw=1619&bih=965

a favorite is the one that instructs to "take child out before washing garment"--or the size 1X label that says "try on a small. it'll be funny."

I just noticed a similar warning on a top I bought. Since it was on clearance I only paid $6 for it but it was from a better quality name. I just washed it so I'll see what happens. The sleeves fit fine but the front and back fit like it was about two sizes larger. Now I know why it didn't sell.

I would just wet an area in warm water, like a side hem, and see what happens. Or maybe just wet your fingers and rub. Hope she didn't spend a lot of money on it.

The term for the color rubbing off is "crocking" and isn't all that uncommon especially with upholstery fabrics but the rest, IMO, is a 'crock'.

Thanks for the warning. I'll look at them a bit more closely now!

"a favorite is the one that instructs to "take child out before washing garment"

---Oh, but it's so much more efficient to wash both together!

My husband received a shirt for a Christmas present with similar instructions.
