At Costco we get Old San Francisco, and if they are out of that we get Starbucks. Love strong coffee!

By flavored, I think you mean a coffee that has good flavor...not one flavored with add-ins like vanilla, or chocolate, right? If you want a really good cup of coffee, brewed at home, you can't go wrong with Starbucks. I don't get anything at Starbucks other than plain coffee. I just don't think the price justifies the item. But their coffee IS good! It has great flavor every cup. I imagine other "gourmet" brands are good as well, but for consistency I stay with what I know. Starbucks.

Coffee is individuals to each person (as you've learned from these responses)! We love Columbian (8 o'clock) in a general fashion, but when I want o treat myself I have French Roast. Then there is the Kona!! yum! the ol standby Arabica, which isn't too strong and doesn't end up bitter.
Have fun trying these, and remember that you can coffee taste at most all coffee shops!!

Yes, that is exactly what I meant. I don't care for " flavored coffee" at all. Just coffee that tastes good. I have about decided that I am losing my appetite again. When that happened a couple years ago, it began with my coffee not tasting good. So, I started adding extra coffee grounds, but then I started having what I call "coffee nerves" or jitters. I quit coffee altogether and soon realized I had no appetite at all. This was happening while hubby was in hospice care. I lost 20 lbs before appetite returned. Will see.
Time will tell.

Thanks for all the replies, this has been interesting in that I did not know there were so many kinds .. (Brands) of coffee available. Small town here.

I have to agree with icul8rg8r and roast my own coffee beans and grind before every pot. The coffee is so much better than anything else I've tried and buying green beans is way less expensive than the grocery store (even Costco). My husband drinks coffee by the gallon and since I started roasting my own beans he doesn't have the heartburn that he used to get drinking coffee. Also have a Pfaff Ambition 1.0 and live in Pudget Sound area (Snohomish) are you the sister I never had?

Yes, this is what I use. I don't use my big coffeemaker either, only drink one a day.

Just google "finum brewing basket" and it will give you a link to Amazon. Or just use that name in the search box at Amazon. That's where I bought mine about 2 years go. The picture shows the basket sitting on the lid. I let the coffee steep for 7 minutes, but you can check to see what works best for you. It hangs onto the top of your mug and you cover it with the lid after pouring in the boiling water over the grounds. The basket is too tall to use in a standard cup, so I use a mug.

I buy just straight coffee and not just one kind, I switch off. I have two big cups a day. Just straight, no sugar, no cream.

I have just discovered Gevalia. It has a wonderful flavor and is not bitter.
