For all of my labs, my Dr said I could take all of my pills with sips of water only, before testing. Just no other beverages or food for 8-10 hrs before. It may vary with indiv. Drs or the meds the patient is on. Play it safe and just ask. I hope all will be just fine with the tests. I get mine done every 6 mos.

Check with your doctor. I don't take mine because they're supposed to be taken with food.

Ask your doctor. If it's too late to do that, just take your meds with you so you can take them right after the test.

Having worked in a medical laboratory for 35 years I can tell you that you can take your medication with water before a fasting test, unless your doctor has specifically told you otherwise. However water is all you can have.

There is no such thing as a dumb question, just a dumb person who doesn't ask! I normally take my meds after the fasting blood test as it is normally early in the morning, but if in doubt ring up your nurse and ask, she won't mind as she will have been asked the same question 100s of times before :-D

You need to contact your doctor. I've been told that if I have meds to take them w/a little water. If you are taking meds that would affect your health without it you should probably be taking it. So, Please talk to your doctor to make sure.
