I have used hair spray. Spray it well and let sit a few minutes. You might have to do a repeat, but it works.

If all else fails you can always tape off the area outside of your name and then spray paint (use paint for plastic) over the name.

Try hair lacquer. We removed permanent marker from leather with it. Good luck

This works well on smooth surfaces. Maybe use the toothbrush if the surface is rough. On my Tupperware I found at a thrift sale, the black came off, but left a yellow shadow. I can live with that.
If all else fails, I would do the paint thing.

This worked to remove a Sharpie from our flat screen tv screen. Cover the marks with a dye eraser marker and that ink will absorb the permanent mark and wipe off. Worked like a charm to clean the scribbles from the tv screen that DH though was toast.

I use rubbing alcohol to remove permanent marker from my plastic plant labels that I want to use for the next year...but I stick them in a glass and let them soak overnight...don't know how well it would work just using it.
