Default The Rainbow Lion

Long story short lol, I was working with an associate In Puerto Rico in August. (for the Decoart painting company, (I still work for them now and then). Anyway, we got along so well and you know how women start to tell stories lol. She had a sweet memory of her grandmother who had knitted her a soft Lion toy and she remembered it as having a multi color body and a blond or something like that, face and mane.

She has a little girl, who she called every night and she called her, little Cup. I thought that was so sweet and had the thought that I should make this sweet little girl a lion toy. I searched the web and nothing pleased me. I knew what I wanted but just couldn't find it.....then lo and behold one day I came across this pattern. It is knitted all in one and that's what I wanted. I did some slight changes to the hands and the mane is also a changed to crochet loops. He is made in acrylic worsted yarn from Hobby Lobby. The yarn is called, "I love this yarn" and it's very soft.

I used a #6 cable needle and did the magic loop. Actually the pattern was called, Magic loop lion toy. Then I went shopping and bought quite a few toy patterns lol. I now have cats and dogs and etc etc but they are all on the same style of this lion, that's the way I like them. I do change a bit here and then to make the work less.

Yes Nammie, it is very fun. I especially like to do it for children...I have no grandchildren but my friends do and so I have too.
