Default Rose_P - New Fur Baby!

Our dear little 17-yr-old Cosmo went over the Rainbow Bridge not too long ago, and the sole remaining basenji was sad and just moped around. We were afraid that if he didn't perk up soon he would just lose muscle mass and go down hill fast, so we just had to get him a friend. Enter Gracie. She's a pound rescue, probably about a year old. Our best guess is that she's a cockapoo. She's been in our family for a little more than one day, and at the moment she's sprawled on the couch with Rascal after a busy day of play. We're delighted! I have no idea how to add pictures to this new version of QB. I have the instructions open on another tab, but I don't see any of the icons they're talking about. What and where is an "edit window"? [And, btw, what are "existing tags" - is there a list somewhere? I can't add "dog" or "pets", but I guess I don't need to now that I've typed them here.] Sorry, no pictures for now, but trust me, she's precious.

can't help you with the pictures - haven't tried them myself - but sounds as if your new addition is going to settle in well and be a good friend to Rascal

So glad to hear Gracie has settled in so swiftly. I am sure she will be a wonderful addition to the family.

Glad the dogs seem to be getting along.

To add a picture or scan:

Click on "Go Advanced" - blue rectangle - to the lower right of the reply box

Then another screen comes up
Scroll down a ways - then a tan bar shows up that says "Additional Options"

Under that is a blue rectangle that says "Manage Attachments" in it
Click on that

Then a pop-up appears in the upper left hand corner

If adding a picture or scan from your computer:
Click on "choose file"

Then select it however you do from your computer

Then the name of the image shows up beside "choose file"
THEN press "Upload"

Then when it's loaded, it shows up in that same drop down box as a "current attachment"
After you are done loading (up to ten) your attachment(s), there is a "close window" button at the bottom - press that and that drop down box disappears

Then the reply page appears - you can edit at this point -

I don't know what happens if one presses "preview"

Press "Submit Reply" - blue box at lower right at the bottom of the page

It is actually fairly easy - once one figures out HOW -

Glad to hear Gracie is settling in with everyone. So sorry not to see a picture but understand where you are coming from.
This new web site is not user friendly by any means. What you need to do to submit a picture - huh. I still have not figured out how to do a bookmark. My visits are very short, getting more quilting done.

So glad you did that. I lost my little 16 yr old Silkies a few months ago. Angel died first and three week later Katie died. She was simply broken hearted without her friend. Peach and I are all alone now and I don't think I will ever have another puppy..way to sad to say goodbye. I am so happy my Peach is only 4! Can't wait to see pictures!

Pets die as people do, my answer is to go out and get another, sure help take your mind off the loss. lots of pets out their that need a home. I have lost many pets over the years and it never gets easier. I still get another.

Default Thanks for the tips, bearisgray!

I just haven't been spending enough time here to learn what's what, and I have to admit to feeling very resentful about what appear to me to be unnecessary changes, but it's time to either roll up my little tent and move on or get with the program, right? So here goes, and now that I know where to look, it's no harder than before.
