Default Safari & Market bags

The two safari bags are from a Sew4Home pattern . . .the black and white bag (grey lining and grey faux suede bottom) was a gift to my daughter-in-law. She paid me the highest compliment - she asked if I had bought it because it looked professionally made! She also likes it because it fits in the carry-on bin for flights.

The multi colored bag (blue lining and brown faux leather bottom) was made for me - although my BFF said she really likes the fabric design, so it will probably be her b'day gift. The fabric called to me while I was in Hancock's - even though I am really trying NOT to buy any fabric.

The yellow/blue/white market bag is also supposed to be for me - I purchased the fabric more than 4 years ago - who knows what project I had in mind. The pattern is from Joann's - I've used other patterns I like better, but again it was one I have had around for years and I needed to try it.

Oh it's a sham I wasn't close enough to hear that fabric speaking to you. I love it too. Your bags are great!!!
I just bought a book by Yoko Saito on bags of all kinds. most are so cute but do require lovely embroidery and applique. all in neutral shades. one day.....

The bags are really nice. You do excellent work.

I've never tried making bags. They seem too difficult for me to make but I guess I should try. Maybe I could do it.

I especially like the tote. Beautiful coordinating fabric.

Gorgeous bags, all of them. Made me chuckle that the one you made for yourself will probably end up with your friend. That's how it goes always, don't you think so.

Would like to try them too, were they hard to make? And the safari bag, was that the name of the pattern?

Thank you for sharing the wonderful projects, great job! Excellent work!

The name of the project at Sew4Home was Safari Duffel - and as to how difficult - not very. There is a tutorial with plenty of photos. For me, the most difficult part was finishing the lining at the end of the large zipper. If one can make a quilt and has set a zipper, a person can easily make this bag.

Actually all of the Sew4Home projects have tutorials with lots of photos.
