Default Save your threads and scraps

While waiting in the Dr. office this morning I was looking at a Birds and Blooms magazine. There was an article about saving threads and cotton scraps for the birds to make their nests. Never thought about doing that but definitely will start saving for spring. Do you do save your scraps/thread?

Yep, I do! I usually make crumb blocks, and the too small stuff gets put out side for the birds~

be careful about long threads. Maybe run your rotary blade across the threads a few times.

i'm not fastidious about it. but when i see a pile of it in the waste basket, i sometimes take it up the hill and put it out for the birds.

Nope, there is plenty out there for the birds to build. Messy little buggers!

Yes, I save threads in a bag hanging off my chair. When I see the first birds in the spring, I string the threads on branches for them.

Nope don't save them. My back yard has pampas grass in it and by time the spring is over and the birds have built their nest they have stripped the frons clean off the stems.

When I sew out front I kinda act like Eleanor Burns and just throw the "stuff" - when I am in the house sewing nope it all goes into the trash LOL
