Thankfully most of my friends on FaceBook are too old to be doing selfies and posting them. And I have no problem unfriending those who annoy me one too many times

I am getting to that point too, esp "friends" that are really acquaintance that other than FB, they are not relevant to my life today. ie: not in my social world in real life.

On a funny note, my cousin "unfriended " me in october 2012. Our political views did not match. No problem, our spiritual views don't either. I am not an Atheist but he has every freedom to be so. I found it immature to unfriend those of who are not clones of his views in life. He is A 65 year old PHD.

A Polish couple taking selfies at the edge of a cliff in Portugal fell off and into the Atlantic Saturday. Electronic media are resposible for thousands of deaths every year. Driving while texting is already against the law in many states but it is so widespread that it is hard to enforce.

For those of you who have people addicted to "Selfies" did you know that now you can buy a stand to put your cell phone/camera on to take selfies from the perfect angle, a friend is buying one for her granddaughter's birthday, she was so excited about it, I didn't comment just asked her (very tongue in cheek) what is a "Selfie"? I had a quiet smile to myself when I was admonished for supposedly not knowing what one was. I definately should get out more.

One of the reasons I love the "hide" button. Bang! It's gone!

It is almost as bad as when you walk around or on public transport and see that almost everyone is hooked up to some gadget with earphones,(don't people have normal conversations anymore) I have an earphone attachement to my mobile phone (cell phone) I feel like I should use this but not attach it to anything so as I do not feel left out.

Many people have had serious accidents here when crossing roads etc as they are so obsessed with these gadgets they are not watching the traffic, one schoolgirl last year walked under a tram and was killed while texting.

So sorry if I upset anyone, now you can get back to your Facebook.
i am the original poster and i was not offended. Facebook IS a time-suck. Just like this Board among others that I frequent.

Btw, my "selfie" buddy continues with the daily selfie. Todays' selfie was shot at such an angle and lighting as to highlight her dental work. (Crowns that do not match in color) It was kind of startling. Mine do not all match either but then I dont do "closeups". Or selfies.

I am surprised at all if the posts showing homes all ready for Christmas! What?!!

Just came across this thread! I think I must have a few of the same FB friends, as some of you. What tickles me (right before I hit the 'hide' button), is the way they pose themselves for some of those many selfies. I don't mind the goofy ones, from the younger set . . . but those who are in their 40s and older should NOT try to look 'cute' or 'sexy' because it just makes them look deranged!
