Way to go, Rock Star! If your surgeon is happy with your progress, you should be proud of yourself.
I know why fall is your favorite season; you don't dread a long, miserable winter. I spent 6 winters in the Austin area. They were great! I like the cooler temps in fall and the beautiful colors we have up north but knowing what we will endure for our 5 months of winter.....ugh, I hate to even think about it.
My right knee is hurting me. Might have something to do with walking 10 miles in the last 2 days. I'm trying to remember to take my glucosamine twice a day (with a meal).

Way to go Lynne. Sounds like you are doing well. Teri I am having such a hard time getting back into the school routine too. I come home tired and have a hard time doing any exercise when i get home. I do walk a lot at school because of the way my schedule it. I usually walk between 3 and 3.5 miles at school. Pam you need to build your walking up slowly. Have you tried taking Turmeric with black pepper. My DH and I swear by it. It was recommended to me by a doctor for inflamation. When we run out of it I can tell the difference. I get mine at Costco.
My DD is in the process of moving back here from Tallahassee FL. She flew home for the weekend for several job interviews. She is a nurse. Her boyfriend has already moved here and is living with us until they find a place. It won't be a good weekend eating for me. It is my birthday and my DD has made us a reservation at a Brazilian Steak house I have been wanting to go to. It is kinda expensive, all of my kids are going. They walk around with skewers of meat and you just keep telling them what you want. I had better go biking several times this weekend. The weather is finally cooling down and it is supposed to be a gorgeous weekend here.

I haven't heard of taking turmeric. I'll have to see if they have it at Sam's. We don't have a Costco. I have been walking since spring. I took too long of a stride 2 days ago and felt it in my kneecap. I think I just stressed something a bit.
Happy Birthday, Pat!! How nice that your DD is moving closer to home.

Happy Birthday, Pat.

I've never seen turmeric and black pepper. Is it a mixed capsule? I have been taking turmeric for years and I've recently read about health benefits of pepper. Oh, oh, I wonder if black pepper is a nightshade. I gave up nightshades 31 days ago when I started the Whole30 diet. The RA in my hands is better. I can't tell as much in the other parts of my body. Dairy may be a contributor to RA, too. I guess I'll find out as I can add it back into my diet now.

I went to my last yoga class Tuesday night. It breaks my heart because I love it, but with my feet having so many screws and plates, the Warrior poses are just too much. The class has progressed from a beginner to an intermediate and I'm not there. It's not fair to Jason for me to continue going. I have a call in to his instructor who teaches a gentle class. I know she travels a lot, but I assume she'd get a sub. We'll see. It's a morning class and I'm not a morning person.

I take turmeric but not with black pepper. Turmeric is supposed to be anti inflammatory and help prevent cancer.

I found turmeric with pepper added on Amazon. I'll add it to my next order.
Scratch the stopping my yoga class. I just talked to my instructor and told him I'd be doing some modifications. Warrior I and II will be done sitting. He's good with it and reminded me he has always told me to do what's right for me. He also reminded my "all or nothing" personality gets in my way at times. Ya think??

I can add dairy and grains back in my food plan and I'm not sure I want to. All or nothing?? Maybe Jason is right.

Judy the black pepper added to the Turmeric is supposed to make it work better. I have never tried it without so not sure whether it does anything or not. My friend who did the Whole 30 tried the adding things back in to see the effects. She ended up deciding that for her if she really limited her dairy she was fine. She has pretty much kept the grains out of her diet, with an occasional cheat. She said she feels amazing and has discontinued her arthritis meds. She has also lost quite a bit of weight. Her DH cheats more than she does and feel much better too. It sure makes it easier to stick with it when everyone in the house is on the same program.
My Dh told me a couple of weeks ago he hates my car and I should go buy a new one. So I have been car shopping. So for my favorite is a honda CRV. Of course my DS is a mechanic so he gets a really good discount at all of the dealerships that his company owns. I think Honda is the only dealership they don't have. I am going to look at Toyota today and maybe do a 24 hour test drive of a Chevy Trax or a Buick Encore. Going out to dinner for my Birthday and I am going to be so bad!

I wonder if red pepper would help too. Black pepper and I do not get along.

How fun to get to shop for a new car. When you are at Toyota will you check the Toyota RAV also? I is the Toyota version of the Honda CRV. Keep us posted.

Happy Birthday! Will you share what you ate? LOL

Pat, my favorite would be the Buick Enclave. I am tired of trying to see over SUVs and pick ups in parking lots. I'd like to be higher and the Enclave would work for me. My daughter's Honda CVR doesn't ride smoothly at all and has had its fair share of repairs.

I'm thinking dairy might be a problem - not with digestion as it was years ago, but with joint pain. Is there a decent non dairy cheese.

I test drove a Toyota Rav4 today. I don't like it as well as the Honda CRV. I also drove a Chevrolet Trax and A Chevy Equinox. The salesman convinced me to bring the Equinox home for the weekend to test drive it. At this point I think I want either the Buick or one of the Chevys. It is so hard to decide.
We went out to dinner Boi Na Braza. It is a Brazilian steakhouse. It was delicious. They have a huge salad bar with 65 items. They have bread and some appetizers on the table. They walk around with skewers of meat and you flip a card to green on the table if you want some. I had sirloin, prime rib, parmesan pork, sausage, rib eye, lamb etc etc and more. It was delicious. Since it was my birthday I got free dessert. Triple chocolate mousse cake. OMG was it good. I split it with my DIL. All 4 of my kids were there with their spouses. It was fun. We of course all ate too much but it was fun. I will have to avoid the scale for a few days. We rarely go out so I ate what I wanted.
My joints have been stiff lately. I suspect it is because I have had too much sugar and bread this week.
