I thought every one made pj bottoms the way I was taught. I made a pair at quilt open sew day and no one there had ever seen it done my way. I cut two leg pieces, usually by tracing around a pair of made bottoms, on the fabric, sew the pants hem, sew the leg part closed, put one leg inside the other and then sew the crotch, put elastic in the waist band or drawstring. Done. Anyone do it this way? Is there a better way?

I love doing simple pants that way. Now pants with zipper and fly, forget about it.

Knew this was one way to make pj bottoms, just haven't done it like that.
One thing for sure, by stitching the crotch seam like that, you'll have less chance of the seam popping out!

Isn't it fun to share sewing knowledge with each other?! So many good ideas out there.

I use fleece for the pants. Everyone loves them. My girls live in them at home.

I made fleece pants like that one time. Now I sew the fronts together, backs together, then the side seams and leg seams. Hems and elastic.

I've done them like that (except hemming after legs are sewn) but don't care for the crotch seam, that way. I prefer it to lie down flat, by sewing the crotch first, then across both legs (then press the seam open and then down).

I make lots of pajama pants for children and grandchildren and that is the way I do it also. Quick and easy

Have made many pairs that way. Have tried several other ways also but always go back to that one much easier I think
