Somewhere I stumbled on a list of abbrev and now I can't seem to find them. This board is never ending and I can't seem to get around it too well, being new and all <sigh>.

Go the search catagory at the top of the page and type in abbreviations. You'll get there!

wouldn't it be easier if we just typed out the words? Or is there some fascination with abbreviations that I just don't get?

I think it's faster to read with the abbreviations.

I think it's faster to read with the abbreviations.
It's certainly faster to type - think if writing dear son-in-law compared to DSIL.
