I quit 2 years ago after 30 years of smoking. I used Chantix and it never bothered to be around smokers. Wish they had it years ago !!

I feel for you, I have been trying to quit. I do really well for several weeks then I think oh just 1 won't hurt, but it does. I'm still working on me. My heart Dr. told me to pop a vitamin C tablet when a strong urge hit, it helps a little.

Thank you, thus far for all of your support, trials, and triumphs.

Krystyna, I'd love to postpone but it is not possible. Just pray for me, if you can.

I go in less than two hours with a new resolve- I'll let you know how the weekend goes.

of course you can have one cigarette..........but it wont help. You will need another and another.
Try to picture the truckloads of cigarettes you "need" if you continue smoking. Also be aware that there is no choice between not smoking and one cigarette - it will be the truckload.
Put the money aside and bring it to your LQS
Keep my fingers crossed for you

Maybe have a bottle or sipping container of water to go to every time a smoke break occurs?

Get a straw and blow bubbles in your water - (okay - childish idea, but I still like to blow bubbles in my liquids)

The carpal tunnel sort of limits hand activities - ??

Go for a short walk?

Good luck - if you really want to resist smoking - you can and will!

I quit 13 years ago after smoking for 36 years. I used a prescription nicotine nasal spray. I've never heard anyone else say that they used it. But, you don't have time to get that. Drink A LOT of water and stay busy. When the urge hits, and it will, get up and get busy. The urge will subside and in time come with less and less frequency. Good Luck. You CAN do this, only YOU can do this.

I understand - I quit about 15 yrs ago - my hubby and I did it together (and no one was injured during that time) - it was difficult. My hubby did the nicotine patch and I went cold turkey. Keeping busy helps - making the commitment to yourself and then talking yourself through those urges. You may slip up - but get back up on that horse and do it again. Every hour, every day is a victory - it will get better but if you have your mind made up - you can do it.
