Glad for you sake it's gone now.
That's why I'm glad I live where I live...no poisonous ones!

We had some Banks Roses planted all across the back yard growing up the fence and they became to big to take care of so we had a landscaper take them out for us and I new there was a King Snake here for a long time and I told my DH he lived under the shed and his name was slimeeey. Well the landscaper was working and we found 4 of these snakes coming out of the bushes. I told my husband on the first one to take it away. Then 1/2 hr passed and I went out on the patio and another one was wrapped around my grandson's bike seat. The landscaper took them away down by his house 12 miles and turned them lose by the river. I think we still have one because my grandson saw it last yr in some other bushes. King snakes keep rattle snakes away but I don't want 4 or 5. I am glad we don't have the bushes anymore.

I guess I'm in the minority, I like snakes. Of course the kind of snakes here are all non-poisonous. When I mow, I keep an eye out for them and move them out of the way of the mower.

Snakes do a good job of keeping other unwanted critters away.

I opened a tote of baby blankets that were in the barn and there was a dead baby rat snake....That tote really reeked... got it scrubbed out and all the blankets washed... that tote is stored in the house now...
I don't mind 'good" snakes but the venomous snakes can stay away.
When we lived in Texas on a mountain, we bought a book on snakes and our daughters were taught how to id a poisonous snake and what type it was. We never saw any snakes while we lived there.

Can you lure it outside by putting some food out for it?(Only problem would be keeping watch that it didn't go back to the "nest" in your shelter...good luck.

I have heard if you put a hemp rope around anything a snake will not cross it. Maybe one where they come in will work. I have used moth balls around basement windows. The work.

I'm with you on that one - as much as I fear storms, I fear snakes even more - even the "good ones" but to me the only good one is a dead one!!! I put one to rest 3 weeks ago when I moved some leaves and wanted to plant some new shrubs - out rolled a nice big one that was still half hybernating - he was not very lively - PERFECT! He is history - I got the mower to mulch leaves and he went with it! NO thanks to any snake!!!
