Aretta,
You are so wise to seek God's help. HE can get us through anything. Nothing is too big for God, HE can handle everything.

Looking back, this hasn't been too bad of a year. Of course I'm ignoring the fact that I was diagnosed with cataracts, my arthritis is getting so much worse that I'm in pain constantly, I'm pretty sure that I have a stress fracture in my foot and I got sick for three weeks after Thanksgiving. There's been other things--bad knees, hips, shoulders, my favorite cousin had a really bad stroke, etc. but, I won a Janome 3160, I'm alive, my daughter is healthy, no one had to have any surgeries this year, so I guess it hasn't been too bad. Sometimes we all get so focused on the fact that they glass is half empty that we forget to quench our thirst with the half that isn't.

All in all I've had a great year. I learned to cope with certain family members...nothing I can do to change them, so I either accept them or at times just ignore them. I have found my inner peace with not working anymore and have accomplished many things. In addition, I have stumbled on this board which is full of so many wonderful, caring, helpful people. I believe the Good Lord led me here.

Peace to all and Happy New Year!

When the year hasn't been that great for whatever reason I find it very cathartic to focus on a fresh New Year.
We've had a lot of challenges this year and frankly I'm glad it's almost over. I really don't like to rush time but it's the way I feel right now.
Having said that I'm still full of gratitude and give myself a good lecture when I start my famous pity party.
I agree about the half-full/empty cup :D:D
Happy New Year, all my wonderful friends!!!!!!!!!!! :D:D:D:D:D

At least we all survived and we still have each other.

Our holidays have been bittersweet this year as we know it's the last holidays we will have with my dad. I am thankful for the time this year with my parents and I've had the opportunity to say everything I needed to say. So many don't have that option. I just pray what time my dad has left, he doesn't suffer. And that God helps my mom adjust to the changes once he's gone.

I just lost my mom too, and have not handled it very well I have been out of work since I became her caregiver and am heading back next week. My hope is the experience I have gone through with my mom and the horrible pain of loosing her will one day be something the Lord will let me help someone else and make their journey a little softer.

I have had a rough year and can't wait for the new one and hopefully 2011 will be a much better year. Things were good until I had surgery twice for flesh eating disease on my leg and then after 2 1/2 months recuperating, I lost a job I loved with a cancer research group. I am thankful that although I have some nasty scars I didn't lose the leg. It would have been hard sewing without my right leg!My DD, DGS and I had to move in with my son and his family as we couldn't afford the high rents in the city with me not working. Have not had any luck finding a new job but I keep hoping as we need to get into a place of our own. I know a number of people on this board have also had a rough time in 2010 and I hope that 2011 is better for everyone here.

I too have had it rough with medical problems this year. I am so grateful that I found this board, it has helped me so much.

All of you on the board are very compassionate and helpful to me and one another.

It's out with old and in with the new!
