GOsh if his hair was lonegr he looks like a Currin Terrier like Toto in the Wizard of Oz. So cute. Nothing ugly about Sam.

He's lovely - looks like my kind of dog - you said about his coat - when I got my fox/patterdale X terrier Millie) her coat was smooth and sleek and now she is very course and curly - looks like a miniature sheep - still love her to bits though

Have you had his hip x-rayed? it could be dislocated and only need to be put back into the socket properly... no reason for him to suffer in hopes that it gets better on it's own...
