I have the name, address and telephone # of the place that I ordered
the original monkey doll socks from, back in 2003. Am I allowed to
give that information over the inter-net?

They are called Red Heel Socks. They're brown & white splotchy with a red heel (that is the rump) and usually, but not always, with a red toe.
used for the mouth.

I'd be happy to pass on the info although I don't know whether they are still available from this company.

Gosh, you can tell I'm computer savvy. DUH.... The name of the
company for the sock dolls is Action Apparel, Inc. You can just
put that in Google and get all of the info.

When you buy the socks they send you instructions for a few
different animals. I've also made the ones that are about 4" high -
like a Dotee Doll!

My sister and I made sock monkeys for our kids when they were younger, my daughter would have been 36 this past Feb. We dressed them up as male and female, even put earrings on the female monkeys. The kids loved them, I still have my daughters. :D :D :D

I lost her six years ago yesterday and her 21 year old brother six years ago today.

I've only just heard about sock monkeys from Skeat and made my first one the other day! Our whole family have gone sock monkey mad and I don't think he'll be the last one I make. When googling, I saw the original socks were Rockwood red heel socks - something like that! I used black with shocking pink heels because it was all I could find at midnight when I started making him!

There's a website called Thejoyofsocks.com. Don't know if they would have what you want for sock monkeys but it's worth a look.
