I finally learned - after many years - that my DH equated having food prepared for him as being loved!
He usually says "Thank you" when I fix something for him - even if it's something as simple as a cold sandwich - assuming, of course that I did so with good grace.

He's gotten so much more considerate about fending for himself when I am really busy with something.L

Gosh, where to start. Being a southern gentleman he treats me like a queen! He brings me coffee, waits on me hand and foot. He just bought a Dreamweaver XE, a high end combo machine, just because I deserve it, his words!! I moved in with my daughter for a while to help her while she is going through an ugly divorce. Her 5 yo son was abused. I'm providing the stability and emotional support for him while she's finishing her nurse practitioner degree. This was my husband's suggestion because the boy needs so much help. I consider him my rock. We have been married eight years and he has never let me down. I can always count on him for support and help.

I am not able to say all that my hubby does for me because he is one considerate guy. This list would be a mile long! He says that I spoil him too but I think that is another super nice thing he does for me I think the key is we both use our best manners with each other and always try to think of how the other one feels. So many of our friends seem to take each other for granted- so sad.

Just one of the many things he does - in the winter when I need to go somewhere he will bring my vehicle close to the house (my garage is 300 feet away) so I don't have to walk on ice and snow.

What a lovely thread to read and enjoy. Thanks to all for sharing! DH bought me my first sewing machine for Christmas when we were first engaged. From that point on, I could just go on and on with several examples. It is enough to say he has been very supportive in many ways. The latest example: yesterday he took me out for breakfast after my blood was drawn. We will be married 48 years next month.

He brings the truck up to the house, from the barn, so I don't have to walk on the snow and ice. He does the laundry, mowing and most of the gardening. He is understanding and considerate, trusting and is always here when I need him. We disagree, but never argue.

He does so much. My mother had to move in with us 18 months ago. He takes her for appointments as often as I do. He does most of the shopping and cooking. Pushed me in a wheel chair for a few months I needed it. We went on a cruise to Alaska for our 40th anniversary. I had some problems when we were in Juneau. I had to convince him I would be ok alone. He went out for awhile. When he came back he had been to Changing Tides quilt shop. He got what he thought I would like that he liked also.
Mom didn't want to go to bed last night. He stayed up with her until she was finally ready to go to bed. I had crashed about 8:30.
There are so many things he does and has done it would take the rest of my life to tell and then there would be more. God gave me a great husband who is the love of my life.

This is a wonderful thread. My husband is so supportive of anything I do. He has been doing most of the cooking since I have been sicker with my lupus, and other conditions. I have been going for physical therapy for some disks in my neck, and yesterday he told me he wish it was him so I didn't have to go through it. When we start out anywhere in the car he will ask if there is anything I want at the little store close by, and does the same when we get there back home. As others have said, I could go on and on. I am so blessed.

After reading just the first page I am jealous, my husband is the least domesticated person I know, so I can't brag that he cooks for me, cleans for me or even does laundry - oh, every so often he accumulates a pile of really nasty clothes from working on his old car or some other mechanical job in the workshop and he will put a huge load in the washer, never remembering to put them in the dryer. The things he does do for me, he moves the horse manure from the holding bin and spreads it in our fields and he hauls sawdust for the horses about once every 6 weeks. He is also good at finding things for me to do! Good or bad, I wouldn't trade him.
