I have seen ads saying 3 people unfriended me. It isn't true and I ignore it.

The only time you need to be concerned is if you see the light go on that your webcam is operating....which just happened to our daughter. Her computer was hacked, we cannot find the virus, it has hidden itself, she got a pop up that she was trying to access her last year's tax return....she wasn't....yesterday her webcam came on. We have shut down the computer and are taking it to the Geek squad this weekend.

I have had the same ad pop up for me off and on for a few weeks now. I don't click on things I have no idea about. This could be a virus or who knows what. I would not click on it if I were you. Probably just and ad wanting you to buy something or get on some site. Who knows!! I too have a lot of curiosity about things, but not when I am on the computer-- too many problems can arise from something like that, and who knows what this is about. Since I have had it, and you have, I am sure hundreds of more have also. I think in this day and age of high tech machines there is always something going on. We all probably have many spying on us, but don't worry about it, just ignore it and go on about your merry way. Have a great day!!

that kind of stuff pops up all the time-ones that say you are being spied on, ones that say facebook friends have 'un-friended' you...it is all (internet garbage) don't ever click on anything like that at the top of a page...if someone actually un-friended you or something else ligit you would be contacted through (proper chanels) - a personal message or email---not some scam pop-up....some other's that sometimes appear...'someone has checked your credit score' or there has been a change to your credit score...'paypal has suspended your account'; ....there are actually hundreds of them out there---never ever click on something like that--if you see an (ad) that actually get's your attention-you want to check it out---don't click on it---write down the link address & go to it on your own...if a facebook message pops up-don't click on it- go to your actual facebook page & check it---be safe/not sorry...those ad's are just that- just like buying x-ray glasses from a comic book....

I clicked on it and it's a SAFE MONITOR free app 100% virus free says Norton. You can use it to see who's tracking you, spying on you, etc.

I've been using Chrome for years and didn't know that. Thanks for the tip.

If the ad is for a vendor you are actually interested in that you know is on the up and up (like the fabric shops everyone talks about) then it is a good thing to support them. If the ad is for some questionable source, then ignore it. As for the spam emails, just delete them. I feel very fortunate to get very few of the Viagra etc ones since I use gmail. Used to get tons of those everyday on my work computer.
