Default Source(s) for snap tape for childrens clothing

    Hi all,
Wondering if anyone has an on-line source for snap tape used in baby/children's clothing? My research brings me up empty handed for anything other than the 18" package which is crazy, exorbitantly priced.

I can do with white and black if those are the only choices but a dark blue with be an added bonus.

    Many thanks in advance,
    d

Wawak Sewing has it at $36 for 8 yards, $40 for 12 yards or 3.50 for 18". I've ordered from them before but can't remember what their shipping $ was like.

I have made a lot of children's clothes with the snap crotches/legs and have used individual gripper snaps on them. I haven't bought any lately but I don't remember them being super expensive. If you're concerned about the material not being strong enough then use some twill tape on the part where you apply the gripper snap. There is a small tool that you use to apply them and you need a hammer. I also used a small block of wood to protect my table top.

I have used the snap tape in th upholstery section. They are a sturdier snap than the ones designed for children's clothes. I have also used pieces of Velcro that has worked well, too.

I have 18 inches of snap tape with snaps 1 1/2 inches apart. I wonder if I could take it out of the plastic package and send it to you in a regular envelope inside some cardstock without a problem with the postal service.

It was in my donation pile and just hadn't made it anywhere yet.
