Love your birds! I'm watching birds all day long,too! Rose-breasted grosbeaks, white crowned sparrows, Baltimore orioles, Orchard orioles, cardinals,all kinds of finches. Still waiting for the hummers and Indigo buntings, gray catbird. I also have 2 cats, but they stay inside.

We have lots of birds here. I noticed a Humming Bird had come back. They remember every year where The feeders are. Baby Woodpeckers love the juice too. I buy the red premixed liquid in the jug. Lots of Finches hers. I don't know all the species' names.

As a younger person, I never thought I would enjoy looking and feeding birds, husband and I feed & water them..and this year hummers are crazy, had to buy two more feeders, they are sometimes 4-6 hummers feeding at same time..love it..have two pair red birds this year, yea! No Martins yet, they are always here by mid March, nothing this year, first time in 10 years this has happened...we are thinking it is weather..that is keeping them their timing off..hope so. Maybe tomorrow...

Wonderful photos. I haven't put my hummingbird feeders out yet but it is time. I'd love to put feeders out for the other birds but don't have a place where I can protect it from the squirrels. They devour everything.

These are wonderful. Love them all. It is hard to realize just how beautiful the Bunting is until you see it in person. The Oriole is still on my to see list. last year I fortunate enough to see a Scarlet Tanager. What a beauty they are. I am just south of where the Grossbeaks range ends so I don't see them. When I lived in central NY we would see flocks of thousands in the yard. Quite a sight.

EDIT: Thank you to everyone who keeps their cats inside. My little boy is a very spoilrd indoor cat.

Also, where ever you live, even one window can become an enjoyable view. Starlings were mentioned and I just want to say even though they are an imported species and can be rather abundent, they are a wonderful bird to watch. Look close and they have beautiful feathering and their song, if you take time to really listen is enchanting. IMHO

If you have limited viewing or variety of birds, even the lowly starling can be good company.

Thanks for the lovely pictures. Don't have the feeders out yet, but the water baths are full. It's fun to watch the birds decide who can bath or drink first. Sometimes they are down right set on who will or will not join in with them..Usually they prefer to bath alone and will fight any other creature who tries to sneak in. Guess I need more bathing units. Really do enjoy watching them. Never ever thought I would watch birds when I got old...but.......

It is my husband's camera, a Nikon. It will zoom the object in close. We live in a house with lots of windows, so we do not need to step outside and startle the birds. A wonderful way to catch them off guard.
