I even stopped my daily newspaper because someone stole it 5 out of 7 days weekly.
------------------------------------------
I had lost several newspapers and then did like most of my family tries to do..don't get mad, get even.
So very, very early one morning I got up and carefully opened the paper, inserted a note and then did it up again in the plastic covering. Sure enough, it was gone, but after that none were ever missing!!! On the note it said.
----------------------------------------------------------
On any day, or more in the future that I choose, this newspaper might explode with the RED DYE used in bank thefts. One of my friends is a local cop and said he will provide me with this dye. It will take a long time to remove it from your face and any exposed skin, and will most likely give you a bad allergic reaction.
Signed..without any love at all, the true owner of this paper.
-----------------------------------------------------
Soon after that a friend about 2 blocks from me complained that she had seen an older lady? walking a fat little dog, letting it crap all over the lawn without cleaning it up but picking up a neighbor's newspaper and tucking it under her arm.
She never got mine again though.

Sorry this happened to you. This week we had our pressure washer stolen off our screened in pool deck. They sliced the screen (could have opened the screeen door) and took it but forgot the hose. Our dog sleeps by our bed and our bedroom is also off the pool area, our dog barked. LOL I told him to stop and he did. Next morning my husband noticed the screen cut and the pressure washer gone. Police don't think it will be found. We got the hose and they got the washer. I believe what goes around comes around.
Glad I didn't let the dog out as the theft had come prepared to slice the screen and I wouldn't want anything to happen to my dog.

I don't believe in warnings. Just do it.
As a former police officer, I would advise you to not put the sign up. That would be an incentive for them to break the window and clean out your home. Place a couple of nicely wrapped boxes out there for them to steal, but make sure you fill the boxes with dog poop first......

The delivery that was supposed to be tomorrow came today right after I got home. I'm taking the sign down but going to look into a real camera system.

I wouldn't tape the note to the window. I would want the person to do it again so you can see if it is someone random or one of your close or distant neighbors.

Hope you catch the thieves. But I wouldn't put a sign up. Only inviting more trouble. My opinion.

Glad you got your packages.

I have a tall planter next to the door. I emptied out the back end against the wall to put in new soil and plants. When I did that, the postman put a package there. Shortly after that, so did UPS. I now have a hidden package spot that the delivery people automatically use.

I'm pretty comfortable with it. The only gray area is that people constantly come to the door to sell, proselytize and petition. I'm half expecting one of them to grab a package. They don't seem very observant though. You have to look directly into the planter to see even a large package.

ditto
Me too - don't want to loose your laptop and have to fix a window. I like the idea of "phoney" boxes too - do you maybe have dogs/kittys who can leave presents in those boxes? Evil, huh, but pay-back's a b***h.

Oh dear. I just sent my granddaughter a quilt for Christmas. I put so much time and love into it and everyone at their house works (she part time). I sure hope she gets it ok. We insured it, but that doesn't help emotionally. We mailed it today to get there by Thurs. so hopefully it won't be sitting anywhere for very long.

I'm so sorry for the theft, it really irks.

We're so lucky up here on our hill, nothing bad hardly ever happens(knock on wood).
