Default Went shopping yesterday...usually don't get out in the crowds

but took a grandson whose birthday is today. It is just so hard to know what a 12 yr old boy wants - that is affordable, but he fell in love with my e-reader so we headed to Buy for Less and got a really super deal and we didn't even get to the store until after 11:00 a.m. Then I decided to stop at Staples and found a 23" monitor for my computer for only $99.00!! Yippee. Just like watching TV and I don't have to squint to read the posts, and the quilts look fantastic!

Then another computer store where I bought a wireless keyboard and mouse for $20.00! I feel like I have stepped into the future.

Then my older daughter and I hit some thrift stores for some crafts she wants to make. Bought Christmas T-shirts to wrap presents, T-shirts to make into gift boxes (she found several dog related which will be perfect for her grown sons), men's button down shirts to make some really cute aprons. We are having a birthday party today and working on craft projects. What fun! Enjoy your family, and the holiday, there is nothing more precious!

Congratulations! Sounds like you did well. I learned a few years back that unless you're after the hot items or the doorbusters, you can usually find what you want later in the day and avoid the crowds.

I checked the newspaper for the Black Friday sales and didn't see anything I really wanted, so I didn't go. Not that I don't need plenty, but the sales are more for gift items, and I need furniture and a new Swiffer. (Oh, and a sewing machine, but I don't want to rush into buying the wrong one.)

Sounds like you did get all the bargains! I didn't go out yesterday at all but I did go today. Bought quite a bit on my Christmas list and surprisingly the lines where not too bad at all.

Its so nice to hear when others enjoy the simple things in life with their families. How wonderful and precious those moments.

What a successful shopping day for you and your GS! I love special times with my DGS. He is 8 and we went to the movie to see the Muppets. On the way he asked me where a tornado takes you if you get caught in it. I told him it could take him up in a tree, next door, down the street or even to Kansas. He replied, "This date is going to be really fun!" It may not be a forever memory for him but it will certainly be one for me.
