I would hesitate to use super glue on anything other than a superficial cut, this is not sterile like what is used medically.
they used it for my total knee replacement on the 3rd.of jan. both knees are done and "super glued"!

Living in the cold mountains of NC, a friend of mine found that if she took extra zinc, she had no trouble with cracking. She also used Super Glue to glue the deep cracks until she discovered the zinc.

I also have used New Skin a number of times on small nips(Hairdresser for30 some years) , but if you had a cut with an Axe, I can only imagine how much that stung!!!

I've used super glue to hold small cuts and cracked finger closed for years.. but I discovered a nifty trick.. Instead of using my fingers to hold the cut/crack closed, I use tweezers.. I just put the tweezer on each side of the cut, squeeze them a bit, it closes the cut and I don't ever accidently glue my fingers together!! Works like a champ! I also use it to stop the bleeding when I clip one of those dang little skin tags off.. clip, glue.. no blood, no soreness... I've tried to get my husband to try it for a razor nick, but he thinks his steptic pencil works okay.. yeah, and burns like fire.. silly man, ought to listen now and then.

I use it for my finger that gets the needle under the quilt when quilting.

I use that all the time. any time there's a cut in a place that moves a lot, the glue is good. It's also good for bigger cuts, ones that don't require stitches but need a little help to heal properly. It's a good thing to have in an emergency first-aid kit also.

Thanks, that's a great idea. I'm forever getting those kind of splits and hoping it will grow out before it gets caught on something and rips off. I'll keep this in mind, we always have a bottle or two floating around.

Don't ever use it on your glasses. I broke my frames on the way to a funeral several hundred miles away (several day trip) and we glued it back together. I couldn't wear the glasses for almost a week due to the fumes.
