When I was younger I used to wish I could had the talent to play an instrument like my Father, or embroider as beautifully as my Mother, or draw and paint as well as my brother, or knit beautiful sweaters like my grandmother. Later on in life I discovered that I had the best talent of all - quilting!

It is for each of us to find our passion. I'm so happy for you that you have found yours:)

I always wanted to play the piano like my friend Jackie. She was sooo talented. I begged for lessons and my parents finally gave in. After 2 lessons, the teacher told my parents they were wasting their money!!! Sewing and quilting came naturally to me and I have been able to expand on my skills in that capacity. Plus, now I would rather see the results of my talents such as a quilt or wall hanging than sit down and play something on the piano!

I always wanted to have a beautiful singing voice. Eventually, I just wished for a mediocre voice. Now, I'm just grateful if I'm in front of a good singer in Church, so I can pretend that I can sing :) Some things some things just can't be taught.

I can relate to that. For Christmas I gave a friend a quilt I made to hang on her front door. She was so amazed that I was able to make something like that. I told her it really wasn't that much to it. She replied, Linda you don't know how many people who would love to make something like this and can't. It made me think. Even though I don't have a lot of talents, I think one day I will probably be remembered for the many things I hand made and given to family and friends. So I am talented after all.
