I live in Magnolia, Texas. I belong to a quilt group in Tomball, Tri County Quilt Guild on 290, and another group in Spring Branch.

I'm so glad this thread was brought up. Loved reading all the posts.
I'm from the southeast tip, Nederland, between Port Arthur & Beaumont. I attend the Intnational Quilt Festival every year in Houston; hope to meet some members there this year.

The Quilt Haus in New Braunfels hosts their local chapter of Project Linus. They are calling for quilts for wildfire victims in Bastrop! (The Quilt Haus, 651 N. Business 35, #510, New Braunfels, Texas 78130 830-620-1382, http://www.creativesewlutions.com/). Texas quilters, let's show them our support!! Thanks, karen

Is there a group in the Plano/McKinney area who wants to make some donations for this?

I can dig up some fabrics for a quilt top, but I don't have a machine that quilts. [sorry if that excludes me from "the club"]

I believe they will take just tops. Here is a portion of their appeal: Please help! We need:
•donations of finished quilts/blankets (made with a personal touch, of new materials)
•donations of crib size batting (45x60")
•donations of backing fabrics (1-3/4 to 2 yard pieces)
•machine quilters who will volunteer to quilt the many tops we have on hand
•volunteers to bind quilts
•volunteers to wash and label finish quilts
Thanks so much for considering to help. You can also help by spreading the word among your quilting friends!!~karen

PS. I don't have a machine that quilts, either!!
