My parents bought mine for me at an estate auction, but I don't know what they paid for it.

Wherever you can find one. Try Craigslist, yard sales, estate sales, antique shops, the classifieds. The value is according to the condition. I've seen one as low as 50.00 but it was in sad shape.

I bought mine on Craigslist for $50 and it needed only a new belt and oil and a little "refreshing" on the cabinet. Just keep your eyes open and don't buy the first one you come across-they show up at all sorts of prices. Also check shopgoodwill.com. I've seen them go really cheap there-of course, you have to be relatively close to the goodwill store that is offering, because they generally need to be picked up.

I got my 1924 red eye treadle off craigslist. Drove about 125 miles to pick her up but she is in perfect condition along with all accessories. Beautiful 7 drawer cabinet. I only paid $125 for her. She sews like a dream. I named her Ella Jane after my maternal grandmother.Just sewing on her brings back wonderful memories. Good luck on your search.

My mom bought mine from some people she worked for. They were going to take it to the dump. She asked if they would sell it to her and they said sure. How much....a whopping $5!!
It was in perfect condition and I used it to sew all my maternaty clothes! lol That was 34 years ago! She's still beautiful.

I bought mine off Craig's list. It is a Red Eye and it has a cabinet I wanted. It was in good shape and I both wanted that machine and that style cabinet so I payed in my opinion too much and the guy did not want to come down because he knew I wanted it. But prices on Craig's list $45-200 or more for Singers being on the higher end and all other brands on the lower end.
