Just wondering- I've just seen one and I liked it, but then again I am in Australia. I wonder how they come across to people who have never been here.

I didn't see them but I've been to your beautiful country. My daughter saw them and now Australia is on her list of places to visit - so I would say they came across well!

I have watched them everyday this week....I have always told my Dh I wanted to visit and now I want to more than ever! Its beautiful !!!
There was a couple on the trip that is from a town 20 miles from us, she announced to her DH she was pregnant on the show !!
I am not a fan of Oprah but did enjoy these shows and the generosity was fantastic.

There is a gentleman who was named one of Oprah's favorite fans and she took his entire family there. He loved it!!! Once in a lifetime trip plus all expenses were paid but for some one who hadn't travelled a great deal, he has a Kodak moment that will last a lifetime for his entire family. I found a pattern of the Sydney Opera House that I am going to make as a memento reminder for him. Again, his entire family loved it!!!.

On every show i've ever seen on Australia makes me want to travel there. You have some lovely areas. New Zealand too. Oprah looked like she was having the time of her life. hot though!!

YES!!! I especially loved the first two shows. The scenery was awesome!! I would love to see it in person, but at this point in my life I doubt it will happen!

One of the gals I work with (Patti Kanaan) and her daughter (Kate Richardson) were two of the people that were there with Oprah. They were the mother and daughter in the group of six that got to go to the rain forest. I haven't been able to watch any of the episodes. She said it was a trip of a life time and had a blast with all the things they did. Some days she said they were so busy she didn't even get to write in her journal she was trying to keep.

Did not see the shows but have been to Australia and Tasmania, stayed for six weeks, loved every second. Such gorgeous places, is on my bucket list to go back. C'mon quilters, let's make our own 'road trip'! lol

Like Australia except the poisonous animals. Not so keen on Oprah. Too pretensious for my taste.

I know what you mean- I don't like them either and I was nervous moving here, but you have to remember that Australia is approximately the same size as the US and those creatures are spread out over a laaaaaarge area!

To put it another way, are you nervous about living in the US because they have rattlesnakes and grisly bears?!!
