Well--I finally had a chance to do something NOT horse related! I weeded my garden.

I love this flowering bush. I thought it is a Flowering Almond, but Mark says Flowering Plum. Anyone know? It a favorite, for sure!

Early this week--getting ready to burst!

After all the weeding, I headed to the back pasture with my camera and ended up being a pillow. Rough day, eh?

Then I grabbed these once the princess was awake.
Tucker--look how far down he has to reach to nurse.

I love this one. The horse forum still doesn't know what color he is.

Mazie.
Gazing at Tucker and wondering when their mamas will let them play.

I bet they'll be playing by tomorrow.
This is how close they got today.

Beautiful pictures, especially the one of the napping foal. When we had horses, they were always glad to help me weed. Of course any plant they liked qualified as a weed, and was promptly eaten!

Beautiful flower beds!!! I'm not sure on the flowering plum, ours out here do not have flowers that thick on the branches...but they are beautiful no matter what they are called  :D

Do the mares get in between the foals the same as if it was another adult horse??? I bet seeing the babies romp and play together is priceless!!! You sure have a beautiful horse family :D :D :D

Why won't you let the horses weed the garden? They could fertilize at the same time....

Yes, amma--the mares position themselves between their foal and anything they want their foal to be away from. Gypsy is much more relaxed and doesn't go crazy when Mazie does her exercise routine. Chloe is still a bit tense. She and Tucker spent much of the day in the run-in shed--safe and sound. The mares are together in pasture now--and seem content. In no time they'll be mutual grooming and the foals will be playing.

Madquilter--all the gardens are well fertilized.

Beautiful, beautiful flowers! I'm going to say it again...I'M JEALOUS!! I want gardens again!!

Oh, and you becoming a pillow. I'm sure it was just a "chore" for you to sit there and let the prince nap on you. You sure look like you are having such a rough time with that! lol Ok, I'm jealous about that too!

Just keep the pictures coming so we can keep smiling!! :D
