Here's todays results. I made 4 batches of picante sauce. The first batch was to hot so I had to tone it down. DH was eating it with chips before I had it finished. We like to eat it on field peas. Yummy

I should take advantage of the local farmers stuff & make some picante salsa to make the winter weather seem not so bad. :)

May I will raid the farmers market this next week.

My dh makes the awesome salsa. He got it from a good friend of ours that passed away several years ago from liver cancer. Debbie's Salsa is the best!

Thought you'd never ask.

Picante Sauce

25 Roma tomatoes
1 large onion quartered
1 small carrot chunked
½ c jalapeño peppers finely chopped leave seeds in half of the peppers (make one batch w/ ½ c, one batch w/ ¼ c to control the heat or use less jalapenos)
¼ t pepper
1 t pickling salt
1 T garlic salt
1 T cilantro

Place small amounts peeled, quartered tomatoes, onion and carrot in food processor. Blend until finely chopped. Repeat until all vegetables are chopped. Combine vegetables and remaining ingredients in 6 qt pan, cook over med heat 30 min. Pour into hot ½ pint sterilized jars, leaving ½ “ head space. Adjust lids. Process 15 minutes in a boiling water bath. Four batches yields 18 - 20
½ pints.
