Default Treasures from my childhood ... from Mom's sewing room

Have to share these pictures of the cabinet and thread chest my Dad made for my Mom many years ago. The corner cabinet was made for storing sewing supplies and the thread chest , well ... for tread!! My sister & I loved sitting in Dad's workshop and watching him build things & the smell of saw dust! I can remember these pieces being in the sewing room. Can you imagine storing your supplies and thread in these? They wouldn't hold much of my items from sewing room!!! But they hold wonderful memories. Enjoy!!

That thread chest is the most charming thing. How very well made both pieces are. Your daddy was a clever carpenter.

I couldn't help but be distracted by the very pretty quilt on the table. ;-)

Your dad was certainly a talented carpenter. I love the corner piece. It reminds me of an antique hutch I one had. Just lovely -- and your shared memories are so precious.

My daughter and son in law made me a thread chest for Christmas 9 years ago. I love it and I use it for and end table. I keep hand sewing supplies, knitting needles, and crochet hooks etc in it. Things I do while watching tv. Its a treasure to me because they made it. I know how you feel.

Wow, those are simply wonderful -- and that quilt on top of your table is beautiful too. Looks like artistry runs in the family!
