This has really been an awesome year from hummingbirds! (at least at our place - we're going through 2 gallons of sugar water a day!!)
We have them sitting on our chain link fencing, all over our decking,
we recently bought a new windchime and that seems to be what they fight over now! They LOVE perching on it.
and a little friend that dropped by today.....(5th pic) - - DH opened door & pet her - This link is to the video :)

this link to a video I posted in June this year - - we have twice as many birds now.
Unfortunately they will be leaving soon :(

Love watching them. Yesterday just at dark I had a tree frog and a HB fighting over the feeder. It was so funny:)

I was just this moment outside refilling the feeders. I then stepped a few feet away to dead-head the budlea. Soon after two hummers buzzed my head, then started feeding from the Trumpet vine behind the budlea - I heard the ffftttt of their wings in my ear!!

Mine don't seem to eat very much, or for very long. they're so aggressive to others. There are 4-6 that hang out in the near by trees and the instant one of them goes to take a drink from the feeder, the others attack. My husband is hysterical because he keeps telling them "awwww - stop it guys, there's enough for all of you".

We were told yesterday that in the winter time...hummingbirds will still hang around BUT YOU HAVE TO DILEGENTLY MAKE sure that there is FOOD IN the feeders at all times. If not they will die. I would love to have hummingbirds in the wintertime, but I really don't want to risk forgetting to fill up the feeders and them dieing.
