You'll love it. We generally stay at the Bayfront Inn, www.bayfrontinn.com/. Lovely, older clean motel and prices are reasonable. It's right on the waterfront, about a 10 min walk from Georges St., the main street of Old Town (lots of shopping) and not far from the fort. Restaurants are close and there's a great brewery a block away. If you're planning to stay overnight it would be a good idea to book ahead. 2013 is St. Augustine's 500th anniversary so there will be lots of tourists visiting this year. If you're retired military, the reserve center a block away will renew ID cards upon appointment.

There is so much to see there. I went down there a few years ago and wish that I'd planned for more time.

I thought you were going to ask about a quilt shop... I did find one in St. Augustine... small but nice and VERY friendly. Bought a couple FQ's that I never saw elsewhere... my "souvenirs". HAhaha

Magrieta's Quilt Shop
142 King St. (for your GPS)
St. Aug.
ph: 904-829-3137
Parking was dicey....directly off the street in front of the shop. Be careful.

Enjoy all the sights of St. Aug.
We were camping at Anastasia St. Park. Been there several times.

Safe travels.

Make sure you go to the Chocolate Factory . They make chocolates that look like the sea shells of FL. My hubby and I spent a week there a few years ago . Loved . Would like to go back just to go to the Chocolate Factory again. Loved the chocolates I got there.

Sr Augustine is awesome. Take the trolley tour...you can get on and off when you like. There is a nice quilt shop in town. Nit sure if I remember correctly or not but I think it is near a chocolate shop. Also a local winery that offers a free tour and samples

I live in St. Augustine - you can't go wrong to come and visit. When and how long will you be here. I'd love to help with plans. PM me with interests and I'd be glad to help.

We go to St Augustine every year. We found it by mistake when went to the Keys for a vacation and decided to go home by following A1A. It was the most beautiful city we had ever seen. We stay on Anastasia Island. The cleanest and nicest hotel was the Best Western. You will love it! Oh, and you must go to Saltwater Cowboys restaurant.
