You should be able to set your receiver to get Mode 2 and have your own programming. Then again I dont know what kind of Orovider you have. I have Dish

My T.V. is not connected to anything so if it's on it on to a DVD, while I'm sewing I listen to a book on C.D. I go to the library once a week a take out about three books. This helps me with keeping up with the latest books. Oh when I'm doing yard work I rent 3mp players from the library which also have a book on it.

I DVR movies so I can fastforward through commercials and watch them while I sew. Love the background noise!

I listen to Pandora (internet radio) when sewing. I usually listen to 50s and 60s and 80s. I can't sew when the TV is on. I lose focus and can't relax.

It depends which room I am in. Either tv or radio...

My sewing room is right off the living room so if hubby's out there watching TV I can listen from where I am. If he's not there I'd just as soon have it quiet. I've found that if I have a TV in the sewing room, then I'm watching TV and not sewing.

No TV in sewing room, just living room and only with an antenna, so I watch in the evening when hand quilting. Otherwise it is the radio, or silence, I like that too.

Yep; and once in awhile I pay attention to it. Drives my kids crazy. I try to keep the lights off all over the house and the AC units down; I'm always after them on that but because when I clean I'm all over the place; I have a hard time staying focus sometimes I normally have TV on in most of the rooms. It's better than getting locked into one room because you don't want to miss what was said. I like having sound going on; even if I'm not paying attention sometimes

No TV in my quilting area. Most of the time I like my silence. Good time to think and be thankful. Sometimes I will turn the stereo on in the other room loud enough so I can hear it and hum along while quilting.
