The joys of maturity. A couple of tricks I have learned in my mature age: 1) when I buy pellets for my water softener, I ask the manager/assistant to load them in my Explorer; when I get home, I slide them out of the back of the Explorer onto my office chair and wheel them inside or wherever I need to place them. They slide off the chair quite easily. 2) I have a hard time getting up from the floor/kneeling, so when I needed to clean my mopboards in the bathroom, I took my long handled sponge back brush, scrubbed the mopboards, rinsed, and then dried, all with the sponge. I was truly amazed at how well this worked, so did the mopboards elsewhere in my house. I also use an extended grabber to reach things at a higher level and to pick up clippings, etc. from my sewing efforts. Amazing what we can come up with when we are faced with a challenge.

Does anyone remember half-fitted sheets, for the top sheet? Elastic at the foot end, regular sheet at the head end.. This was when I was a kid, so 1960's.

thanks for the review on this laundry basket. I looked at them online but was concerned about how well the wheels worked on stairs. I need a new hamper for my closet so will look for one of these. I would use my old hamper but i ended up putting it in my sewing room as a trash can. It is tall, has solid sides and fits perfectly under my sewing table so i don't want to lose that. much too handy where it is now. LOl

I guess I'm lucky, hubby makes the bed and my laundry room is right next to the bedrooms, so no hauling. I did buy foldable baskets because we have no room to store regular baskets, they fold up and hang on a hook in the laundry room when not in use.

Walmart sells laundry baskets with wheels and a handle that extends and retracts. I have two, they are fantastic. The master suite and laundry room are no where near each other.

I buy my pet supplies from chewy.com They deliver dog food, cat food, and the cat litter, so much easier then getting it at the store. When I get the shipping notice I track it so I know when the Fed Ex delivering is coming. I can hear him pull up and I open the door and he puts it in my foyer. I always offer him a bottle of water and a purchased individually wrapped treat.

Ladies, I didn’t expected much of a response to my ideas. Thanks to you all the for your input and exchange with your ideas. I will be looking into the cart with wheels. I’m also still using the back scratcher to retrieve items from the back of the dryer.

I think the next challenge is to catch the person who hides things, steals one sock, and/or shrinks my clothing while I’m not watching. She’s a sneaky one! Any ideas?
