The deer are pretty in the snow. We get them here, some times 1 - 20 at a time. We put feed out for them & the other wild life that comes to visit.
We had about 35 wild turkeys come in the other day before the cold hit. They come in often. Had a pair in the spring that came up to the back porch.

Tennessee? Why is everyone getting snow except for us in Virginia? (Love the wire fox in the agility tube!)

What part of Virginia are you in? I'm in Virginia and we woke up to some snow yesterday morning early.

Sorry folks, but when I see a deer I usually think of mashed potatoes and gravy,on the side, and the fact that they cost millions of dollars each year in damages to property and vehicles. Pretty yes, destructive....you bet!!

Saw the same thing yesterday. Only times 6. They run in packs around here. They are beautiful, but can be pests also.
All my trees are trimed to deer height.

Same here. All we get are skunks and gophers, lol, plus the occasional coyote. As for the damage, I figure we humans do far more damage to the animals' environment, so I am prepared to put up with whatever they do. I do, however, make sure that I keep my cats inside though.

I don't mind seeing them in the winter, not so much in the spring and summer when they're devouring my flowers.

You and VA BCH, what gives?? I'm in Bedford right up against the mountains and nada! Although I did sit near the window at Ruby Tuesdays yesterday and looked at the snow on the top of the mountains north of us. It's too d--- cold to snow!!

Had to feed the kitties on the back porch (half-screened, windows, but now closed) because they were too cold on the front porch in the wind. One is still so timid and feral I don't know if he dared to come into the room that is the porch - no peep hole in the door - and I worry about them. They live in the bottom of the well house where there is at least no wind and can go down to the the hay barn and crawl among the bales for warmth. Having a heck of a time trying to keep their water dish from freezing. It's truly miserable here right now.
