If you want customer service, don't shop at Walmart. Sorry, just my opinion. That's why there's LQS's I'm sorry you had this experience, though. I called Walmarts in my area once looking for a specific item, and at 2 of the 3 area stores, they couldn't even put someone on the phone who spoke English well enough to help me. At the third store, they told me that I would have to come look myself if I wanted to find a particular item. I learned my lesson. No more Walmart for me.

When Craftybear and Qbee and I went to a walmart, we had to wait a LONG time for someone to help us. I went and asked a cashier to call someone and no one came. My son went and asked someone to call for help and no one came. Finally a guy came that had no clue what to do but he gave it a try and got all of our fabric cut for us and he was friendly to boot.

It is sad what WM has turned into, the "Top Dogs" don't seem to care about the customers at all, before our local WM done away with their fabric department the ladies were having to work so many departments, all over the store,so that whenever you wanted fabric cut you had to wait a good 30 min. to get any help and if you were there in the evenings someone from electronics(usally a teen boy) would have to come help and I would have to guide them through the whole process.Don't really miss it too much now,go to the LQS.

Our local Wally world doesn't carry fabric anymore. I've shopped at Hobby Lobby several times but there's only been 1 time that the lady was helpful and friendly in the fabric dept. The rest of the time, they acted like it was such a major pain to cut fabric for me. Not shopping there anymore.

For electronics we go to Best Buy. I don't even look at WM anymore.

I knew Sam Walton--and Harold--and bet they are doing gymnastic flips rolling in their graves at what has been done to the store based on SERVICE and AMERICAN-made products.....

I still remember how furious Sam was when a company tried to put one over on him. They were having jeans made overseas, then putting labels on and buttons in the US---could legally label "Made in the US" that way. They lost all of Sam's business when he paid a surprise visit and found all the boxes of garments from overseas!

I live in a small town... with the closest Walmart 40 miles away.... which is ok with me.... I'm happier shopping local. I don't really miss Walmart at all.... I do pay a little more locally, BUT, I save gas/time/wear and tear on my car/ not to mention frustration at their attitude, and I always find "other things" at walmart that I do not really NEED.... so if I dont see it locally, I most likely dont need it. I shop ebay for alot of bulk items ( razors, lotion. candles) and still come out cheaper! plus it gets delievered to my hosue... no lugging it to the car , then lugging it into the house.
I LOVE MY LOCAL SHOPS!!

I have pretty much stopped going to WalMart and started to shop at Target.
I bet if more of us stopped shopping there so often they might start to listen to customer complaints with an open ear, start hitting their bottom line with lower numbers.

Most retail stores have already cut out their Chritmas help and cut hours for the regular employees.

If it was me and I had rung the bell a few times and no one came to help I would have cut my own fabric...taken it to front register and let the clerk find someone to get a price !!!

They dont want any full time workers because they wont have to give out any benefits either..they keep employee hours just under the full time status.

I HATE WALMART....once they became so big they turned out worse than some of the other big box stores.

Their meat and produce are 'seconds" thats one of the ways they can sell it a few cents cheaper..fruits and veggies are not as large or as fresh as super market products. Meats are not as good quality.

ranting, raving, venting and fuming about nearly everything is inappropriate and pointless here. it accomplishes nothing except to create a bad impression of us as a group.

if you like walmart, shop there.
if you don't like walmart, don't shop there.

end of discussion.
