I use a long strip about 3" wide and with as table knife tuck it into the gap in my front door. It does a really good job of blocking the draft. It is very easy to remove when I need to open the door and just as easy to replace.

He, he. i used some poly batting in the side of my patio door. This house is shifting and drafts show up everywhere.

I do the same. I also use scraps from cutting out fabric along with batting scraps to make snakes (draft dodgers) to lay at the bottom of my doors.

I use mine behind the door at the bottom of the stairs to the attic of this old cottage.

I doubt the cook had a door here originally, so she likely roasted in the summer up there and was a bit warm in the winter, as heat rises. I keep the slit under the door blocked for all seasons with batting.

Got to change it out this spring though as it's pretty gross after 6 years of dust, dead flies, debris and other yuck.

The scraps work good for dusting too, especially if you're using a wax -- they buff up the shine nice.

Make good "swifter type" dusters too........I also use to place between plates, fancy dishes( holiday) when shoring.......

you all are so clever. I was using paper towels in my manufactured home to keep bugs out of the big crack in the door between door and frame. definitely going to use some batting.

I use my un opened precut battings in the interior wells of my basement windows for extra insulation , since they are only single pane windows. Really helps keep my basement sewing room much warmer, plus they are stored neatly stacked.
