Twinkie,I love the wash cloth slippers and they certainly must be very useful for nursing home residents. That is such a neat idea and thank you so much for sharing.

Here is a picture of what they look like on your feet. I am not a light weight person so they will fit the larger ladies and gentlemen

I will be glad to. It is real simple.

Take 2 washcloths. Fold one in half and stitch the seams on the side so that it looks like a little pocket. Then turn inside out so the seam is on the inside. Turn the top edge down about 3/4 of an inch on the outside. Stitch trim (and the top edge folded down) down at the same time you stitch the trim on.

Turn to the inside where the seams are stitched up and cut a little slit under the seam. Thread 3/8" elastic, 12" long through the top seam where the trim is and fasten together ends of the elastic. Be sure to put puff paint or dots of fabric glue on the bottom to prevent slipping. That is all there is to it. ****don't forget to do the second slipper LOL**** Enjoy and have fun

Thanks! Another great idea for me to do for service project! I have been looking for an easy item to make for my DH's work. He works in hospice and these would come in handy for his clients.
